Common Signs of Transmission Failure

This is not a full list, but I think these are the most common signs of transmission failure. It is a good idea to ask your mechanic to check for leaks and other signs of transmission problems while your car is serviced for oil change.

One of the most common indicators is leaking fluid. If you see something leaking from your engine (usually red), it means it's time for a major repair. Take your car to a mechanic as soon as possible to prevent further damage on your transmission.

Another common indicator is abnormal gear shifts. If you feel firm or loose gear shift, it usually means a problem with your transmission.

Lastly, if you hear noise from your transmission constantly, or while changing gears, that could be also a sign of transmission failure.

Transmission repair is a major surgery on your vehicle. Try to prevent the disaster before it even happens by keeping up with regular maintenance schedule. Don't forget to change the oil as suggest by the manufacturer of your car.
